Is it time you followed the ‘Romans Road’?

Is it time you followed the ‘Romans Road’?

Life is often referred to as a journey and the road we travel is filled with ups and downs and bends and straights, there are times we feel like we are moving along smoothly and other times when it is a struggle.

Like all journeys, life has a beginning - a starting point and a finish - a final destination. As a Christian, I believe it is important that, not only do we travel well, but also we be sure of our final destination; for the bible clearly tells us; just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement.

So the road we travel and the way we travel is important and for many years numerous Christians have learned what is known as the Romans Road, which is a collection of verses from the book of Romans that offers us a clear path to becoming a Christian. Romans 3:23: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Each one of us have done wrong (sin) and fallen short of God’s glory, which leaves us in a tricky situation because Romans 6:23: for the wages of sin is death Sin has its consequences and must be dealt with.

Fortunately the verse goes on to tell us, ‘but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord’, this is possible because: Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were sinners, Christ died for us: There was nothing that we could do but God has stepped in and not only says He loves us but shows He loves us by the giving and dying of His Son Jesus - which is great news; however, what we do with this information is of vital importance and will ultimately determine our final destination.

Romans 10: 9 - 10 if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. In this verse we have, if you like, the direction sign that will take us and keep us on the right road; we are to confess our sin, acknowledging Jesus as Lord and believe that He not only died for us but rose again and by doing that we WILL BE SAVED.

What road are you journeying down and where is it heading? When we find ourselves on the wrong road the right thing to do is to get off it as quickly as possible and get back on the right one; the Romans Road shows us how to do that; is it time you followed its path?
